Another Age-Gap Celebrity Couple Calls It Quits: Peter Berg and Whitney Cummings

Age-Gap Celebrity Couple Peter Berg and Whitney CummingsAfter about a year together, comedian Whitney Cummings, 31, and director Peter Berg, 51, have reportedly pulled the plug on their May-December relationship. In true comedian style, Cummings inadvertently revealed the news during one of her recent stand-up performances. “It kind of sounded like a bad breakup—she talked about hating guys,” one audience member told Us Weekly. According to an insider, the celebrity couple broke up a couple weeks ago, although nobody is really saying what went wrong.

This breakup is just another blow to an already rough year for Cummings. Her sitcom was dropped by NBC after two lackluster seasons and her attempt at a talk show was cancelled after only three months on air. Although the television series she co-created, 2 Broke Girls, is doing relatively well so far, she’s been spending most of her time doing stand-up.

We’d say her May-December relationship with Berg might have been her key back into the spotlight, but his career hasn’t been looking so great either. His last film was Battleship, which—excuse the pun—sank at the box office.

What do you think: Would you date a man who was 20 years older than you?

Her show was hilarious. If people had paid attention or ever watched it, they would have seen something quite refreshing. It was a lovely modern-day look at relationships and “real” people living with/through “real” issues/problems. We loved it and were very sad to see it end after only two seasons. Great cast and fantastic writing!
