IN THE NEWS: Woody Allen Casts Emma Stone, 24, and Colin Firth, 52, in New Movie

When it comes to older men in relationships with younger women, award-winning filmmaker Woody Allen often tops the list. At the age of 77, he’s currently in a relationship with 39-year-old Soon-Yi Previn, the adopted daughter of his previous girlfriend, Mia Farrow. Allen has taken serious heat for the relationship but the pair still seems to be going strong.

Now critics are wondering if he’s ready to portray couples like that in his films. The director has officially cast Emma Stone and Colin Firth as his two leads in his upcoming movie—there’s a 28 year age difference between the actors. The comedy film has yet to be named and no details have been revealed about the plot. That means we have yet to find out if Firth and Stone’s characters will be romantically linked at all.

Allen has seen significant success in recent years and with two of today’s most sought-after stars, there’s no doubt this film will be a hit, regardless of how young or old the cast is. A release date has not yet been set.
