The eldest son of actor Kirk Douglas, Michael Douglas was born in 1944 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Over the years, Douglas has won four Golden Globes, and two Academy Awards as producer of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and as Best Actor in Wall Street.
In March 1977, 32-year-old Douglas married 19-year-old Diandra Luker; Diandra filed for divorce in 1995. A few short years later, Michael was introduced to Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones by Danny DeVito at the Deauville Film Festival in France. They started dating a few months later in March 1999.
Douglas’s divorce with Luker was finalized in 2000, just in time for Douglas to wed Zeta-Jones in November 2000. Both Douglas and Zeta-Jones share the same birthday though they have a 25-year age gap.
Zeta-Jones jumped on the Hollywood radar in the 1998 action film The Mask of Zorro and in the 1999 film Entrapment. Since then, she has appeared most notably in the films Traffic, America’s Sweethearts, and Chicago.
In August 2013, this celebrity couple revealed that were temporarily separated.
