Michael Douglas Reveals How He Really Feels About Splitting From Catherine Zeta-Jones

Michael Douglas Reveals Catherine Zeta-JonesMichael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones may be taking a little bit of time apart to “work on their marriage,” but according to Douglas, that doesn’t necessarily mean that their marriage is over. Zeta-Jones’ rep confirmed last week that the celebrity couple has separated, but when asked about the status of their May-December relationship, the 68-year-old actor said, “We are fine. My wife and I are fine,” adding that they are just in the midst of a “temporary separation.” Douglas believes that things can work out—when a reporter asked him if he thought his marriage could be salvaged, he responded with a confident “of course.”

Although Douglas is staying positive about the state of their marriage, things might be a little more serious than he’s letting on because Zeta-Jones’ friends are reportedly concerned that the celebrity couple’s split will adversely affect her mental health—Zeta-Jones has bipolar II disorder and has admitted in the past that her condition was triggered by stress. “The next few weeks will be very tough, and I’m very worried about her,” said Anna Walker, one of Zeta-Jones’ close friends. Walker believes that, because Zeta-Jones has such traditional views about marriage, it will hit the actress even harder. “Catherine is very old-fashioned and never wanted to ever go through a divorce.”

What do you think: Can a “temporary separation” really fix a marriage?

Both Cassie and Laura nailed it. A little late for playing the traditional role. She did after all have an affair with a married man. Wow it didn’t work? Is she really wondering why? Karma right back at her. I bet Mrs. Douglas # one is having a field day with those quotes. I know when I was separated I thought my marriage was in great shape too! Lol

    God does not bless infidelity..

Catherine Zeta Jones married someone who brought her more $$ and fame. Now that Michael Douglas is older 68 years of age., she’ll probably play the victim and move on to someone younger. Hm?!?

My concern is whether she will still get to use the Douglas family compound in
Bermuda. Such a quiet and hi-brow place to hang out from the commoners.

I feel for both of them but really there are more important things in the world than Michael D and Zetta — Jones.

It is difficult to get into bed with someone that has to have his wrinkles ironed out FIRST. Now that I’ve said that, I never did like Douglas from day one — she is great and I would like to see her in more movies — “Chicago”: was terrific. He is a dull as anyone can be — plus, what used to be ‘here’ is not ‘over there’, etc. I dont think even Viagra would do it!
