This past month has been difficult, to say the least, for Mick Jagger. The 70-year-old Rolling Stones frontman lost his longtime girlfriend, 49-year-old L’Wren Scott, when she tragically took her own life on March 17. At the time, Jagger was on tour with his band in Australia and rushed home as soon as he got the devastating news of Scott’s sudden death.
The celebrity couple was together for 13 years and on March 25, Mick Jagger said his final goodbyes as he laid his leading lady to rest during a private funeral service in L.A. Jagger, who delivered a eulogy, was surrounded by close friends and family, including his kids. Jagger’s daughters, Karis and Jade, read a poem and Psalm 139, respectively. Two of Jagger’s grandchildren also read a psalm.
According to insiders, L’Wren Scott was very close to Mick Jagger’s kids, and “loved them like they were her own.”
Although the celebrity couple shared several homes in Paris, London, and New York, Mick Jagger has reportedly been staying at a hotel since arriving back in L.A., and there’s no word yet on what he’ll be doing next.
“I’m still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way. We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves,” Jagger posted on his Facebook page the day after Scott’s death, adding, “I will never forget her.”
