Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey living in Splitsville

Mariah Carey and Nick CannonBeing a celebrity has it’s own share of ups and downs. The media wants to know it all. These well known superstars have been the public highlight for no other reason than ‘splitting up’.

Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey were the “IT” couple and are still followed by the media to get insights on how and why did their relationship end.

But first let’s have a quick look on their short lived love story. Mariah first met Nick in 2005 at the Teen Choice Awards where he presented her with the Choice Music R&B Artist Award. Like many other celebrities they remained tight lipped about their relationship. They only began dating two years after they met and were just friends until then.

By 2008, through public announcement, the couple shared the news that they were married within two months of dating. Mariah used her gift of music to portray her love for her man by releasing the music video for “Bye Bye” that featured Nick as the lead.

They shared a romance no less than a fairytale. Nick had to propose Mariah twice before he could get her to say Yes to marry him. He first proposed to the superstar on the rooftop of her Manhattan apartment with a 17 carat diamond ring.

He had come into her life 10 years after she had split from her ex husband. She was going through a low phase in life then, and wanted a way out from life. Meeting Nick brought things into perspective for her.

The second time around, he made sure to give her a fairytale proposal by whisking her away on a helicopter ride. The media began to call her “Cinderella” when news started to speculate about their fairytale romance.

After two years into their marriage, she gave birth to two fraternal twins on 30, April 2011 the same date as they were married in 2008. She named them, Monroe and Moroccan and nick named her angels as “Dem Babies”.

Early until 2014, they lived as a happy family, but trouble struck in paradise by August when  Nick announced that he was splitting up with the former star.

Their love couldn’t blossom despite the little angels in their lives. They had also signed a confidential pre-nup where none of them were allowed to speak about their money what so ever.

Nick and Mariah share an age gap of 10 years, she being the older one. Needless to say, the age difference and the long time fame of the Diva caused differences between them.

She was worth of $510 million dollars then, and he being worth just under $500k — since then he has come a long way, now holding a net worth of $20 million dollars.

Nick was young and energetic, he wanted to go out and live life, while she wanted to stay home and look after the children. Her well deserved fame caught up into their lives as she did prefer to live like a Diva and had demands.

The two found it quite difficult to cope up to each others expectations and decided to split their lives and children. Despite their differences, they claim to still love each other and respect each other by not making foul statements.
