Before actress Mia Farrow started dating filmmaker Woody Allen in 1980, she was married to iconic Hollywood star Frank Sinatra, who was 30 years older than her. The celebrity couple’s marriage only lasted two years—Sinatra filed for divorce in 1968 after Farrow refused to oblige to his request to quit a film she was working on at the time.
While with Allen, the celebrity couple adopted two daughters, and in 1987, Farrow gave birth to their son, Ronan. Their relationship lasted 12 years, coming to a massive crash when Farrow discovered that Allen was having an affair with one of her adopted daughters from a previous relationship—Allen and the younger woman, Soon-Yi Previn, are now married, despite their 37-year age difference.
Allen and Farrow’s custody battle was long and vicious, but both parties eventually went on with their lives. But Farrow’s new revelation is opening that bitter chapter once again—the actress recently revealed that their one biological son, now 25-year-old Ronan, may not even be Allen’s because she had always been having an affair with Sinatra after their divorce. When asked in a recent interview if Ronan’s father was, in fact, Sinatra, Farrow said, “Possibly… We never really split up.”
Sinatra died in 1998, but when reporters talked to his daughter about the claims, she didn’t agree or deny the connection. She did, however, admit that Ronan was treated just like family. “He is a big part of us, and we are blessed to have him in our lives.” While no one knows for sure who Ronan’s father really is, his resemblance to the late Sinatra is uncanny.
